Is it really possible to run a free reverse cell phone lookup right from home on the internet? I mean let’s face it. We’ve all become so used to seeing websites that offer deals that seem too good to be true. And all too often their claims aren’t true at all. Is the same true of cell phone number lookups?
If you’ve never heard of reverse telephone lookups, they are simply a way for you to find out information about someone using nothing but their phone number. Say you find an old slip of paper with a phone number scribbled on it but you have no idea who it belongs to. Or maybe you know who owns the number but you want to know more about them. This is where reverse lookup services come in handy.
There are plenty of websites that allow you to run free reverse lookups on almost any residential and business phone number. But cell phones are a different story altogether. You see, cell phone numbers are not public information the way standard residential numbers are. There is no “white pages” full of cell phone numbers. In order to add a cell phone numbers to its database, a reverse lookup service must pay a fee to the various cell phone carriers. There’s no way they can give you the information for free without quickly going out of business.
I’ve used paid reverse lookup services before and here’s how they work. First you enter the phone number you want to lookup and they run an instant check to verify it’s in their database. If it is you’ll be given some free basic information about the number and it’s owner. If you want, you can then pay a small fee for their premium results which will contain all the information you’ll ever need. If you’re going to be searching more than one number, you’re better off choosing one of the “lifetime” plans that allow you to run unlimited searches for a one-time fee.
Now please don’t be fooled by websites that claim they offer completely free reverse cell phone lookups. As I explained, it simply isn’t possible and they will eventually hit you with a fee at one point or another. Instead, look for a lookup service that lets you run a basic search for free and only charges you for the full phone report.
